My friend Harry Farfan was uniquely talented, and created amazing sculptures in sand, snow, ice, and wood. A gifted illustrator, photographer, musician, he also loved fossil hunting and eating cheddar-flavoured Goldfish crackers. I hadn’t talked to him in ages, but thought of his wit often.
News that he had been sculpting a wolf, a bear, a goose, and a rabbit made of snow collected on the frozen beaches of Cobourg Ontario Jan 6 , 2011 doesn’t suprise me. That a policeman found him without vital signs in his car nearby these last works, did. He checked out at 49 years old, doing what he loved, and will be sadly missed.
