Come visit our foodographyPEC.com “Say Cheese” photobooth in the Farmers Market in Booth #32/33 and say hello !!

The website and facebook page launches this Saturday ,  But meanwhile

here’s what we’re about:

“As culinary professionals and food enthusiasts continue to gravitate towards Prince Edward County three local creative professionals are collaborating on a new venture known as Food*ography. Food stylist Ruth Gangbar, photographer Marc Polidoro and graphic designer Tim Snyder are together offering food styling workshops aimed at attracting those interested in learning the skills behind preparing food for photography and promotion. They intend to appeal to food and hospitality professionals, photographers and food stylists, food writers, as well as growers and vintners.”

Drop over to the Farmers Market and pose in our “Say Cheese” photobooth where we’ll be photographing visitors and vendors. Downloadable images will be offered for $5 each as both mementos and as a sample of work for those who want to use them copyright-free in their marketing materials. A percentage of those costs will go towards the Willi Fida Bursary Fund (www.countycommunityfoundation.ca/WilliFidafund.html)

With a motto declaring ‘Cook. Shoot. Eat.’ the Food*ography collective plans on holding one-day workshops at country and commercial kitchens in the area where participants will engage in hands-on practice with styling food, shooting with props and working with live-time design elements. The first food styling workshops in the series are scheduled for Tuesday, November 6th and Tuesday, November 13th at the farmhouse kitchen of chefs Scott Royce and Steve Chaves (www.justcook.ca). Costs for each session will be $225 (plus HST). Subsequent workshops are already being scheduled for the first quarter of 2013 and will be covering such topics as dessert, beverages and life style scenarios.

For more information regarding Food*ography’s upcoming launch at the Taste event or to register for workshops, please contact me at ruth at ruthscanteen dot com or phone 416-779-6513.”
